We Made It!!

Despite calling the trip off, we ended up heading out after the sun came out. Turns out there were still storms and blowing all the way there, but in the end, it was well worth the trip!

The kids outnumbered the adults!Everyone fell asleep in the car on the way home even though it wasn't really all that late! I guess all the excitement wore them out! Let's hope the rest of the holiday is as restful!

Here's What...

A quick update now that school's out for Christmas holidays...early in the week we watched Bennett & Charlotte for Eri & Mike to have a little getaway. The kids were in school most of the day which gave me some nice time with Ben & Char, but when mine came home, boy were they excited to spend some time with them! Everyone was thoroughly entertained!

Jack's class took a field trip to the Science Centre and I was lucky enough to be one of the chosen volunteers. When I signed up to volunteer I wasn't thinking how desperately I could use this day without kids home to get some much needed baking & wrapping done, but it was really fun and I'm glad I went.

Then Friday was the class Christmas parties. Henry was the only one who really wanted me to join him, but I snuck down the hall to see what Jack's class was up to as well.

And since then, it has snowed and snowed with another storm due tonight. We're not sure if we're going to make it to see Jason's family tomorrow for the one day we could all get together for Christmas this year. It would be a real bummer to miss it, especially for the kids. We'll have to see what tomorrow brings. But at least there was lots of snow for tobogganing!

Henry

I went in tonight to check on Henry after Dana put him to bed. I peaked in and he was sitting up, under all of the covers - I went over and said 'goodnight', he poked his head out only to say "daddy...you interrupted my meeting...!" " oh sorry" i said.. "with who?" He then showed me his stuffed animals and told me "I'm having a meeting about eating healthy" ..? huh? I didn't get to ask much more before he disappeared under the covers again.

Happy Birthday Brother John

Tree Trimmin' & Other Fun

So the Christmas festivities have begun, I've been baking & wrapping and today we decorated the tree. Mom & Dad came over to help & Mom had organized a Christmas concert with Hannah & Jack. She teaches them piano & made up a program of the pieces they would play & had a few duets to play with them as well. It was really special. We will have a repeat performance when we celebrate Christmas with Andrew & Ali & Eri & Mike & kiddies. Other than that, it's been hockey & homework & family skate & my work Christmas party & shooting family Christmas portraits. Another weekend come & gone...10 days until Christmas eve!

OK, OK!

It's really not that interesting and there are no photos since I've been doing a lot of jobs & therefore not using my camera for much else...but here's what's up:
Kids got report cards, all doing well. Hannah had a Girl Guide craft day on the weekend and came home with armloads of crafts for Christmas gifts. Jack's had the weekend off from hockey but Jason took him & Henry to a Leafs practice where there was also some sort of "Mascot Games" with all different sports' mascots so they all had a great time. Last weekend was the annual Black Friday shopping trip to Buffalo with girlfriends...lots of deals, good times, and no one being trampled! Jason's been pretty busy at work. There was a Markham Santa Claus parade in there somewhere, Hannah was in it with the Guides, but no photos as I was at a wedding. Lots of jobs yesterday...families fitting in their Christmas photos. Henry had a hockey practice this morning and has been creating some pretty interesting Christmas crafts at school. Hannah & I went to my Mom's choir concert this afternoon - an event that always means Christmas to me. I just got back from a Bare Naked Ladies concert and everyone's sleeping. The lead singer who used to be overweight & jovial is skinny & recently charged with some sort of drug abuse and is seperated from his wife all just shortly before the release of their new children's album, but he was somehow still jovial to a less than full Massey Hall. Fun show, but mostly fun for the company I was with!
See, nothing very blog-worthy. Are you happy?
