Happy Halloween!

I just love kids trying to looks scary when they're really just cute!
Yes, Henry is dressed as a zombie in response to Jack's great fear of zombies from the Thriller video! Man, at 5 he already knows how to push buttons!

Beavers

I have to say, I was VERY impressed with Henry's Beaver's Investiture tonight. It is a ceremony where the new Beavers get their scarves and tails and officially become Beavers. The only Beavers group I have to compare this one to is the one Jack was in a few years ago so I assumed things would be a lot less organized than they were tonight. I'm not complaining about Jack's Beaver's group, it was run by men for boys and seemed that way. There were never any written notices, someone would just shout out that the next meeting would suddenly be at a different location and if you weren't there to hear it, you might end up in the wrong place. The meetings themselves were chaotic with kids running everywhere and everything was pretty loud. I just thought that's the way Beavers was...and Jack loved it! But Henry's Beavers group is the complete opposite! We got a program as we entered outlining how the evening would unfold. There was an official (volunteer parent)photographer who wasn't me!!! And note the picture of Henry patting the beaver's head...this is an official part of every meeting and many nights, with Jack's Beaver's group, they patted an old sock when one of the leaders forgot the beaver at home!! I'm NOT kidding!!

Puffy-eyed

I woke up this morning after a pretty long night's sleep with really puffy eyes! I had one last shoot for the weekend today and was embarassed to show up so puffy, but I think it's just a result of so much looking! The wedding I shot yesterday was 11 hours with a short break mid-day and the day before I had a family shoot prior to a wedding.
Shot lots of GREAT stuff!! But my eyes are a little fed-up.
So that means I didn't bring my camera this afternoon when we went to Eri's for Thanksgiving Swiss Chalet with Mom & Dad. There was Beatles Rock Band too, but no photos.
I do have some pictures from last week though. Hannah was in her second (and final) cross-country meet and placed 107th out of about 250 girls her age. She came up about 40 spots from last year so she was happy with her finish! Unfortunately I couldn't find her in the crowd of girls running by me so I've only got her from behind!

Must Blog!

Been a while again! Unfortunately I have no new pictures to post, been busy with a few photo assignments though. Kids have got back into the routine of school and of course, we all have colds now. Too much burning the candle at both ends (for the kids and for us!) So this weekend we're actually taking it easy (relatively). We were going to head out to another hockey fundraiser tonight (4th in 2 weeks) but Jack was sad we would be getting a babysitter again and we agreed. Instead it will be family movie night. It's Markham Fair weekend so I will be spending as much time there shooting as I can. It is a volunteer committee and I have to remind myself of that over and over! I do love shooting and attending the fair, but Jack has hockey games Sat and Sun and I don't want to miss them. Hannah ran in her first cross-country meet for the year yesterday and came in 39th...I don't know how many runners there were for her age group, I think around 60 so she was pretty pleased with her finish. I'm really proud of her. She goes to school half an hour early 3 mornings a week to run!! She doesn't get that from me! Guides, Cubs & Beavers have started. Henry was so excited! We have to remind ourselves to spend more time explaining things to him. He gets pulled along in the whirlwind of our lives and was counting down the days until Beavers started but then eventually asked us, "what do we do at Beavers anyway?" He was hoping it involved eating!
Anyhow, gotta get these guys to school then off to work to jiggle!
