She Rides Alone..

She did it!! Inspired by hearing about her cousins in Chatham & Tecumseh, Hannah picked up riding her bike without training wheels after 1 day! We tried yesterday but after lots of tears and lots of frustration (on my part) we both gave up thinking that this will never happen. She just decided to try again today, and just started to pedal...as you can see in the pictures. She is quite proud and told her brother that "one day Jack you will do it too." So now I am going to have to worry about her falling off the bike and all that stuff... it is much easier when they have training wheels and I don't really have to worry about it. Henry says 'hi' in his own way...oh he's eating chalk...great. - j

Happy Anniversary!

Sorry we didn't get out for our anniversary, Jason! It seems the kids have a better social life than we do sometimes. Hannah's feeling a bit better so we were able to make it to the tail end of Emily's going away party at Krystin's house...Hannah and the rest of their class will miss her. They had a fun afternoon swimming and the moms had fun catching up before everyone's back to school. - d

Jack "Pele" St. Louis

So tonight was the last soccer game of the season, we had Nan and Grampa and a big crowd cheering the kids on. Jack wants to play next year too, I asked what he likes about soccer and he said "the goals"... he seems to like it, but is easily distracted, I guess most 4-year olds are though, and as long as he has fun...and we CRUSHED that green team tonight! - j

Day at home...

Hannah woke up coughing and stuffy this morning and was very disappointed that she would be missing her friend Elizabeth's birthday party. Luckily it was Rose AND Edwin Gary's birthdays today too! - d

Busy Saturday

Off we went to the Stouffville Flea Market,
Dana had a 10 hour + wedding to shoot, so the rest of us went to the market to see what was there...which was a lot. Many chickens and ducks...and garage sale stuff. After lunch we took the kids to the park, and as you can see Doug had a very good time!

The Papak's Arrive

Well the anti-blog family arrived at our house today...they are quite nervous to be involved in our blogging...so we decided to include a picture of the kids! That is Zoe on the far left she's 2 1/2 and Chase next to her 3 1/2. The kids are all having fun playing with each other. See Nancy....blogs aren't creepy.

Swimming!

At last the weather warmed up enough to get back into the pool...it was beginning to feel like fall was here already! Jack's friend James came over for a swim and play day so the kids are pretty worn out.

Lil' DIPSY

it's not Batman or Star Wars (Jack's favourites) or Sleeping Beauty (Hannah's favourite), Henry has become recently attached to all things Teletubbies...and luckily (or not) Dana happened to have a 'DIPSY' costume in storage, he was very proud to wear it all around the house. Dipsy is actually my least favourite...which I can't even believe I would have a least favourite or know who they are but that's what happens I guess...

Dana was off to the zoo with the kids this morning, Jack discovered a new pavillion with live butterflies and spiders and they were thrilled...it's tricky taking 3 kids to the zoo, I give Dana credit.

Tonight we went for dinner at our friends' (Nicola and Peter) new house in Uxbridge, it was nice to catch up with them and to see their beautiful heritage home.

Too cold for August

We have recovered from the busy weekend. Okay... Hannah is ready to return to school, she can't wait for it ...if she only knew that summer seems to get shorter the older you get. Tonight we all went to Jack's soccer game along with our really nice neighbours John & Dorothy, it's quite entertaining... I am the coach and there are 10 - 4&5 year olds! They have fun, but they get distracted easily, one boy came up to me while he was playing to tell me "i don't like eating vegtables." So you can imagine it's funny to see them all running about chasing the soccer ball. I coached for Hannah's team last year and I promised Jack I would coach for him this year, so one more time for Henry...

For those who have never checked look at Dana's work at the following website where she works.... www.reportagephoto.com, under photographers you can pick Dana.........bye.

Another Note....

THE STORM...Yikes we just went through a crazy storm here, I was at York University at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament for TSN, and got stuck in shin-deep water...I guess it rained more than 100mm of rain in an hour...a months worth of rain! Our pool was over-flowing...the kids loved splashing in the puddles and finally Hannah saw her first rainbow...after 6 1/2 years!!

This summer

Welcome everyone! This is our family blog...just to give everyone an idea of what is up with our family...if you're interested and you can check anytime you want.

This pic is from our vacation in Higgins Beach, Maine in July. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the ocean. (Hannah, Henry, Jack)

FRANCE!
We just returned from France, for those who didn't know Dana was shooting a wedding there so we made it into a short vacation...felt much longer without the kids though, that's me peaking in a pastry shop.

This is Chateau Le Parc, where we stayed in Mirambeau.

This is the Saint-Louis- des-Chartons Catholic Church in Bordeaux.
