20 Years ago today...
20 years ago the space shuttle blew up, it's hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Where were you when it happened? I was actually in Florida, at Busch Gardens in Tampa and someone came up to us and told us what had happened. I think that may have been the last time I have been to Florida...wow that is a long time ago.
Today it's 10 degrees Celsius outside, it feels like spring, the kids are outside playing and it sunny and all of the snow is melting. What a great Saturday. Last night we went out with another couple from Hannah's school and had a nice time at the local pub. The band was okay...the lead singer was sprouting a serious mullet. Dana is shooting an 8 hour wedding and but she was able to help out with swimming lessons this morning which was great. She is going to be very tired tonight. Okay off to see what those two monkeys are up to outside. - J

We had a nice warm day here too.
I was home from school when the Challenger exploded, supposedly studying for an algebra exam, but actually watching crappy daytime TV. I think it was "Midday" with Tina Slobodnichekskyovak and Brent Bambury. I don't remember who the guest was. They interrupted right away with a "special report".
Wait a minute, no, I'm getting this mixed up. I was actually watching the launch of the Challenger as it happened. It was exciting enough to televise, because that civilian teacher was on board. Everyone had been talking about it. So it was extra horrifying when it blew up, because I saw it in real time and was exactly as surprised as the reporters covering the story. Geez.
By the way, I think I got about 63% on that algebra test.

I was at home watching too (probably with you And). I was in grade six (we'd just recently moved to Markham) and was home for lunch. When I went back to school we had a talk about it in class because most of the students hadn't heard what had happened yet. Grade six was 20 years ago? Yikes.
